Hi,
For everyone asking about password's!
First of all, you can find all the needed information on the text file:
info_20080828en.txt
that you can find inside the image directory.
You can also view it directly in the following link
http://www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/1387(soon on this site/forum)
But let me explain it bit:
1) Root password!
GISVM is based on Ubuntu 8.04
Root user is disabled. You must use "sudo" command to run as root.
The "sudo" password is "user".
Besides that you are inicialy logged as "user" and it's password is "user".
2) PostgreSQL password!
There is only a PostgreSQL user: "postgres", with administrative ROLE.
It's password is "postgres".
For using PostGIS there is a database named: "postgis". You access it with "postgres" user.
3) Java/TomCAT password!
To use the TomCAT Manager you must login as "admin".
It's password is "admin"
4) Geoserver
To use the Geoserver Web control interface you must use the default login: "admin" and password: "geoserver"
All this GISVM initial security configuration was configurated to simplify the user start experience.
Please consider change all this on your GISVM!
Regards,
Ricardo Pinho
